No. 2 — Jeff Graves

Best season — 2003-2004: 6.4 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

Even though Roy Williams was the one who brought Graves to Kansas he’s impossible to leave off this list because of what he did in his two years on campus.

His most notable performance came in the 2003 national championship game against Syracuse under Williams when he had 16 points and 16 rebounds. Statistically, he actually had a slightly better season under Williams, but he was good enough under Self the next season to be number two on this list.

When Graves first arrived at Kansas he was overweight and out of shape. He improved dramatically during his first season and that continued in his second season under Self.

Graves was certainly never the most skilled player. He didn’t have a great jump shot and he wasn’t armed with post moves. But he was a tough and physically imposing presence in the paint that was a big contributor in a lot of big wins during his two years at Kansas.
