Xavier Sneed – Kansas State, Freshman

Head Coach Bruce Weber needed a replacement for Justin Edwards, who graduated this spring, and he found a capable one in Xavier Sneed.

Sneed, who hails from St. Louis, is a high-flyer on the court that is capable of tremendous highlights in transition. He’s a great leaper that is fast from end to end. His athleticism and finishing should prove to be a nice fit alongside returnees Kamau Stokes and Wesley Iwundu.

Sneed has the size – he’s 6’5 with good length and strength – to be an effective defender right away in the Big 12. He is quick enough to defend almost any guard, which should give Coach Weber some versatility with his matchups during the year.

Sneed will have to improve his shooting, but his overall ability will be a big help to Kansas State in his freshman season. There will be very little competition for playing time on the wing, so we expect him to play early and often in Manhattan.
