The 2016 recruiting class is nearly finished, with only a few more pieces left on the board. We take a look at the top incoming Big 12 basketball players in the conference.

With Jarrett Allen the only major 2016 recruit left on the board for Big 12 schools – and it seems likely he will be choosing Texas, from what we’ve heard of late – it’s time to take a look at the incoming class of players in the Big 12.

We’ll consider transfers, recruits, and players coming off a transfer redshirt (i.e. Phil Forte’s redshirt doesn’t count, as he previously played a season for Oklahoma State).

For recruiting reference, the Top 247 Composite team rankings look like this:

  1. Kansas – Josh Jackson, Udoka Azubuike, Mitch Lightfoot
  2. Texas – Andrew Jones, James Banks, Jacob Young
  3. Oklahoma – Kameron McGusty, Kristian Doolittle, Matt Freeman, Jordan Shephard
  4. Iowa State – Jakolby Long, Donovan Jackson, Solomon Young, Cameron Lard
  5. Baylor – Mark Vital, Nuni Omot, Tyson Jolly
  6. Oklahoma State – Cameron McGriff, Lindy Waters, Thomas Dziagwa, Brandon Averette
  7. TCU – Jaylen Fisher, Josh Parrish
  8. West Virginia – Sagaba Konate, Maciej Bender, Chase Harter, Brandon Knapper
  9. Kansas State – Xavier Sneed, James Love, Cartier Diarra
  10. Texas Tech – Shadell Millinghaus, Niem Stevenson, Keon Clergeot

Josh Jackson is the only 5-star recruit coming into the conference, per the Top247 Composite, while there are 10 total 4-star recruits coming into the Big 12.

We’ll start with #12 and work our way down to the #1 incoming player in the Big 12.
