Mohammed Bamba – Forward/Center – PSA Cardinals

The other half of PSA’s twin towers, Mo Bamba is a top 10 prospect in the 2017 class. He measured in at 6’11” with a ridiculous 7″8 wingspan. One of things that stood out most to us were his hands – they’re enormous, and he catches nearly anything you throw at him. Despite his height and length, Mamba moves around the floor with ease. He’s not going to be mistaken for a guard, but his agility is striking for a guy his size.

Bamba’s skill level is rapidly improving, too. He shows great touch all over the floor, and finishes very well around the rim. His lack of girth and strength causes some problems for him on the block, but that is something that should change with time in the weight room.

Defensively, though, is where he shines. His instincts on that end are great, and he has shown the ability to block shots with both hands. Combine those instincts with his incredible length, and you have a guy poised to enter college as a defensive gamechanger.

Tier 2

Kansas has offered and is tracking Bamba all spring and summer. However, we considered sliding him down into Tier 3 because there’s never been much indication that Kansas has a chance in this battle. Duke is considered the frontrunner, but Kentucky is expected to make a strong play for him.
