Kevin Knox – Small Forward – Each 1 Teach 1 (E1T1) Elite

Along with Porter and Vanderbilt, Kevin Knox is one of the truly elite wings in the 2017 class. Running with E1T1 Elite, Knox is the 3rd leading scorer in the EYBL after two sessions of play.

Much like Vanderbilt, Knox is a power wing that thrives in transition. He is an attacker off the bounce and has the athleticism and explosiveness to dunk on anyone at any time. His shooting isn’t quite as bad as Vanderbilt’s at this stage, but it is something that he’ll need to improve on going forward. Last weekend, in Indianapolis at EYBL Session 2, Knox continued to struggle from three and only converted 2 of his 11 3-point attempts.

Again, like Vanderbilt, Knox is an elite defender. When you take into account that Knox doesn’t turn 17 until August, it makes his defensive presence that much more impressive. He doesn’t have great length, but he makes up for that with intensity and footwork – something you rarely seen in AAU or high school. Knox has the ability to defend anywhere on the floor, and projects to be an elite perimeter defender as soon as he gets to a college campus.

Tier 3

Knox is someone that the Kansas staff – and every other staff in the country – covets, but we have him in Tier 3. Why? Because it doesn’t appear that Kansas really has a shot in this one. It’s fully expected that he’ll end up at Duke, and probably sooner rather than later.
