Charles O’Bannon, Jr. – Shooting Guard – Las Vegas Prospects

Son of UCLA great Charles O’Bannon, Charles Jr. is one of the top shooting guards in the country. At 6’5″, he is a big, athletic wing that is great in transition.

O’Bannon possesses a very good frame already, with plenty of room for adding good weight. He elevates well off one foot, and is very good at attacking the rim. He has good range on his shot, though probably won’t be considered as one of the elite shooters in the class just yet. He’s at his best when he can attack off his very quick first step and use his speed to get to the rim.

Tier 2

O’Bannon, Jr. is a top prospect – currently ranked #28 overall on 247sports – but appears to be down the list a little for the Kansas staff. He plays AAU ball alongside potential point guard target Troy Brown, Jr., so the staff will see him plenty over the rest of the summer. The latest we’ve heard indicates Texas and head coach Shaka Smart feel they are sitting really well with O’Bannon.
