Reasons 100-76 it’s Great to be a Jayhawk

100. For starters, campus is amazing.

99. No other team has the same name. That’s the genius behind picking a fake bird as the mascot.

96. Despite being told you have an inferior football squad compared to in-state rival K-State, you lead the all-time series 65-42-5.

95. The guy who invented basketball, who is sort of a big deal, was your first basketball coach.

94. That guy, James Naismith, introduced us to peach baskets. A century later, who doesn’t think they are cool? In a retro kind of way.

93. Your softball team is 17-1!

92. The Kansas Gatorade High School girls’ Soccer Player of the Year will be a Jayhawk next season.

91. That guy Billy Dee Williams played in “Brian’s Song,” is a Jayhawk.

90. The bowling team has more national championships (1) than K-State’s entire athletic department (0).

89. You are more than a one-sport school.

87. Our celebrity alumni/fans (Paul Rudd, Jason Sudeikis, Rob Riggle, Olivia Wilde) are damn funny.

78. You’re so good at basketball, teams storm the court every time they beat you (this also is a negative aspect of being a Jayhawk).

77. The football team has a coach, Clint Bowen, so dedicated to the Jayhawk cause, he agreed to take a “demotion” back to defensive coordinator to make room for new head coach David Beatty after serving as interim coach last year.
