Thomas Robinson drafted by Sacramento
By George Pike
Former Kansas forward/center Thomas Robinson slipped a few spots from where many projected him, to fifth at the NBA Draft on Thursday night
where Sacramento selected him.
Robinson will likely jump right into the starting spot as the power forward opposite former Kentucky center DeMarcus Cousins. Robinson, adds great muscle and scoring ability to a team who needs more muscle up front.
Sacramento has great talent on the guard side with Tyreke Evans, Jimmer Freddette, Isaiah Thomas, and John Salmons, though were in need of front-court help. Adding Robinson to the mix, instantly bolsters their starting lineup, as he is ready to play immediately.
The first four picks had one surprise in them as Dion Waiters slipped in as the number four pick to Cleveland. Waiters was initially projected to get drafted after ten picks, so this was a shock. Anthony Davis went number one as expected to New Orleans, and Michael Gidd-Gilchrist was drafted second by Charlotte. Then Washington picked Bradley Beal with the third pick.
