On Saturday evening, the Texas Tech Lady Red Raiders used a strong game from guard Chynna Brown to beat Kansas, 70-63. The guard scored 20 points on 8-13 shooting from the field. Brown added four assists and four steals in the win. Texas Tech improved to 14-4 on the year, while Kansas fell to 11-5. The Jayhawks have lost three straight games, falling to 2-3 in Big 12 conference play.

Casey Morris added 16 points for the Red Raiders, who jumped on Kansas from the start. Texas Tech held a 41-33 lead as the first half ended. Kansas managed to claw back, even stealing a lead for a brief moment in the second half at 48-47 on a Goodrich made field goal. This would be the Lady Jayhawks only lead of the game, as Texas Tech instantly took back control with five straight points, all scored by Brown.

Kansas was led by backup forward Chelsea Gardner, who scored 18 points to go along with 13 rebounds. Monica Engelman added 12 points, while Carolyn Davis scored 11 points to go along with six rebounds. Senior guard Angel Goodrich narrowly missed a double-double in scoring seven points, along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Next up for Kansas is a meeting with Texas in Lawrence on Wednesday, as they look to end this three-game slide.
