			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Sunday afternoon in Oklahoma City, the second-seeded Oklahoma Sooners defeated sixth-seeded Kansas 7-2 in the Big 12 conference title game. With the win, Oklahoma clinches an automatic berth to the NCAA baseball tournament, while Kansas figures to be safe.</p>
<p>Jacob Evans earned the win for Oklahoma after pitching five innings of relief due to starter Ethan Carnes lasting just over two innings. Frank Duncan picked up the loss as he lasted three innings and gave up five runs. Tanner Poppe, came in and pitched five strong innings for Kansas to keep the game close.</p>
<p>Oklahoma jumped on Jayhawks pitcher Duncan from the start, getting three runs in the top of the first inning. Kansas was able to get on the scoreboard as well in the inning with Michael Suiter driving home Justin Protacio. Oklahoma added two more runs in the third off three hits, increasing their lead to 5-1.</p>
<p>The Jayhawks managed to score a run in the fifth inning, as Dakota Smith crossed home thanks to a Ka&#8217;ina Eldredge sacrifice fly. Oklahoma added two more runs in the top of the ninth off reliever Drew Morovick. Jordan Piche finished the game for Kansas.</p>
<p>Kansas finished the season with a record of 34-25, and now await their likely spot in the NCAA tournament. The pairings will be finalized tomorrow at 11:00 a.m. central time on ESPNU.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Sunday afternoon at Arrocha Ballpark in Lawrence, the Kansas Jayhawks women&#8217;s softball team accomplished a feat never done before at the school. They defeated a number one ranked team. Kansas beat top-ranked Oklahoma, 2-0.</p>
<p>With the win, Kansas improved to 31-16 overall and 6-8 in conference play, while dropping Oklahoma to 44-4 and 12-2 in conference. Kansas before the game was 0-5 vs top-ranked teams, including a loss earlier in the day to these same Sooners.</p>
<p>Jayhawks pitcher Kelsey Kessler, lasted the entire game, giving up seven hits and striking out four batters. Oklahoma starting pitcher Michelle Gascoigne, pitched five innings of the game, and giving up the first run in the first inning.</p>
<p>Kansas freshman shortstop Chaley Brickey knocked home the game winner  with a double in the opening inning. Fellow freshman Alex Hugo crossed home with the big hit. Brickey later scored in the sixth inning.</p>
<p>Kessler, another freshman finished with her fifth shut-out of the season, stranding nine Sooners in the game, including four in scoring position. The win was huge for the Jayhawks as they are hoping for a better seed in the Big 12 conference tournament. Kansas next faces Iowa State next weekend, as they hope for a winning record in confernce.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>On Friday night in Norman, the Oklahoma Sooners knocked off Kansas in a pitchers duel, 2-1 as Hunter Haley scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 10th inning.</p>
<p>Kansas reliever Jordan Pinche got the loss after giving up the deciding run. Oklahoma reliever Jacob Evans earned the win as a result. Starting pitchers Dillion Overton of Oklahoma, and Thomas Taylor at Kansas went back and forth for just over six innings before the Sooners made a change at the position. Taylor, was pulled after 8 and 2/3 innings, giving up one run and five hits.</p>
<p>Friday&#8217;s game was the second of a three-game series, that saw Oklahoma win game one on Thursday, 12-1. With the losses, Kansas fell to 14-10 overall, and 2-3 in Big 12 conference play, while Oklahoma improved to 25-4, and 5-0 in conference.</p>
<p>Oklahoma scored first in the second inning after Kolbey Carpenter hammered an Thomas pitch out of the park. Kansas rallied back in the seventh inning, thanks to Ka&#8217;iana Elldredge stealing a base and promptly scoring later in the inning thanks to one of four errors committed by the Sooners.</p>
<p>Dakota Smith led the Jayhawks with two hits on the game. Oklahoma was keyed by Matt Oberstete who drove home Haley with the winning run, and Carpenter with the home-run.</p>
<p>Saturday&#8217;s game begins at 2:00 p.m. central time and will be televised by FCS Central or FSN Oklahoma.</p>
