On Tuesday morning, Kansas head coach Bill Self announced the team added Memphis transfer Tarik Black to the team. Black, will play his senior year with the Kansas Jayhawks.

Black is a 6-9 forward, 262-pound forward, who earned his bachelor’s degree in leadership this month at Memphis. He started five of 32 games last season for Memphis. Black, averaged eight points and five rebounds per game. Black, added 82 blocked shots and 80 steals, plus shot 59% from the field.

For his career, Black has averaged nine points per game, and has started in 60 of 102 games. He was named to the Conference USA second team defensive team for 2012. Black’s best season came as a sophomore, when he averaged 10 points per game and shot 68% from the field.

Adding Black to the team continues the Jayhawks run of good luck after signing one of the nation’s top recruiting classes, that includes top-recruit Andrew Wiggins. Wayne Selden Joel Embiid, Brannen Greene and Connor Frankamp, are all top 40 recruits, while the team added Frank Mason and transfer Hunter Mikkelson from Arkansas.
