Kansas football just added another piece to their 2021 recruiting class: three-star offensive lineman Christien Hawks from Norton, Kansas.

The Jayhawks’ 2021 recruiting class is growing by the week, and Kansas football has its newest recruit: Christien Hawks. He’s a three-star star offensive lineman from Norton, and he chose Kansas over quite a few other schools.

Hawks had offers from a number of schools including Air Force, Akron, Arkansas State, Central Michigan, Coastal Carolina, and Eastern Michigan. He also garnered attention from Iowa State, Kansas State, and Nebraska. He’s ranked as the No. 8 overall prospect in the state of Kansas.

Here is Christien Hawks’ Twitter post announcing his commitment to the Kansas Jayhawks:

After checking his highlights, Hawks is could make an impact for the Jayhawks. He stands at six-foot-five and 250 pounds, which is a decent frame for a Power Five lineman. He can be seen completely overpowering his opponents and just totally dominating.

With the commitment of Hawks, Kansas’ recruiting class ranks No. 47 in the nation and No. 5 in the Big 12 according to 247Sports. This is a great spot for the Jayhawks to be in, especially if they can maintain it through National Signing Day next February.

Getting ahead in recruiting is absolutely huge for Les Miles in his second season, and it shows that the program is moving in a positive direction. Other coaches at Kansas have really struggled with this, so Miles could end up succeeding where his predecessors failed.

So while he’s not a highly rated recruit, Hawks is a solid commit for Kansas. He’s going to be the kind of guy that’ll make an impact a few years into his career, and he could very well become an anchor on the offensive line.
