In his first season with Kansas football, Andrew Parchment made some big-time plays. In 2020, he’ll look to take it to another level.

After transferring from Iowa Central Community College, Andrew Parchment came to Kansas football and made a huge difference for the Jayhawks. Last season, Parchment reeled in 64 catches for 829 yards and seven touchdowns.

Those numbers were good enough to earn Parchment an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention and consideration for Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year, which was won by Jalen Hurts. In 2020, Parchment is set for an All-Big 12 first-team selection.

Parchment’s biggest game last season came against West Virginia. On that day, he recorded 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns on five receptions. Parchment would be awarded Big 12 Newcomer of the Week for his elite performance.

With the graduation of senior Daylon Charlot, Parchment will lead the Kansas receiver corps with fellow seniors Stephon Robinson and Kwamie Lassiter II. He should expect to get a good amount of attention from whoever Les Miles selects to be next season’s quarterback.

If there’s anything that could cut into Parchment’s 2020 production, it’s the Jayhawks’ lack of a prominent quarterback. It’ll be up to offensive coordinator and QBs coach Brent Dearmon to develop next year’s starting quarterback with the most likely candidates being Thomas MacVittie and Miles Kendrick.

No matter what happens at the quarterback position, Dearmon has to find a way to get Parchment the ball. He’s too much of a playmaker and gamechanger not to get touches.

If Parchment can total 1,000 receiving yards next season, he’ll move into the top ten in all-time career receiving yards at Kansas. If he matches his receiving touchdowns from last season, he’ll also move into the top ten in career touchdowns.

Parchment is without a doubt one of the best receivers Kansas football has had in a long while. He’s proved that he can make noise in the Big 12 last season and he’s set for a monster year in 2020.
