It was an exciting but long night for Kansas basketball fans and Frank Mason. It all turned out well and was fun to watch the comments on social media.

Without a Kansas basketball player up for the draft, I would have skipped the broadcast.  Jayhawk fans are fortunate Bill Self brings in the top talent NBA teams need.  NBA decision makers may not always want Kansas stars but that’s their problem.

I’ve watched and covered draft days for many sports and from many angles. Thursday night’s broadcast on ESPN was a little dull.  The network did very few original things to bring the news.  Why does this glamorous league need to conduct their draft exactly as the National Football League?

It was interesting to hear NBA Commissioner Adam Silver explain how the picks are called in “on a land line” and then delivered for him to read.  On the other hand, it all seemed a little 1970ish.

Fortunately social media provided a variety of fun to keep fans entertained, unless you prefer listening to John Calipari drone on about?  What would we do without Twitter? Here are some of the best Tweets we found.
