Kansas football fans may have a difficult time keeping their emotions in check. Coach David Beaty keeps fans informed on all the good news.

Many Kansas football fans know better than to get too excited. As a matter of fact, hard core fans have to be careful. We’ve heard the carnival barker announce a lot of good things the past few seasons. “Step right up! This is going to be the player we need. This team is going to do excel here and now.”

On the other hand, it is fun to read some positive news from the Kansas football coach. Beaty makes it fun on social media and the communication is important.

The fans need and want to hear what’s going on. Beaty as usual is a busy man. He and many of the other assistant coaches are busy telling the Kansas football story around the state and across the nation.

They traveled to Houston, Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta and New Orleans to promote the season ahead, according to a media release from the University of Kansas Athletics.  Other than for simply recruiting, I don’t remember Kansas football coaches doing this.

"“We took a chance going out into these big cities,” Beaty said. “We weren’t totally sure what to expect, but in each city we had a great crowd of Jayhawks who came to support us and get to know us better.”"

Beaty is full of enthusiasm and why not? He has nearly 50 letter-winners back for this season. That includes 14 starters. The Jayhawks have not enjoyed similar numbers in a long time. It is difficult for me not to be enthusiastic too. I can’t wait for the September 2, season opener.
