Week 9 College Basketball AP Top 25

Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports

Week 9 of the college basketball season has come and gone along with Christmas. For the third consecutive week, the AP Top 25 rankings are owned by the same 25 teams.

The Top 5 remains untouched yet again as Arizona continues to hold the top spot in all the land. Syracuse, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Michigan State close out the Top 5.

Oklahoma State slides up from the 7 spot to the 6 spot after a Louisville loss to Kentucky Saturday afternoon, a win which had ample effect on the poll changes. Duke takes the 7th spot in the polls while Wichita State, Baylor, and Oregon close out the Top 10.

Louisville, who earlier today announced the dismissal of F Chane Behanan and probable redshirt of G Kevin Ware, has fallen out of the Top 10 completely to #14. The Kentucky Wildcats have propelled themselves back to #15 after defeating the Cardinals at home. Villanova, the only other Top 25 team to lose this week slides back to #11 after a loss to #2 Syracuse in a battle of the unbeaten.

The Kansas Jayhawks were one of only 4 ranked teams to have the entire week off, including conference foes Oklahoma State and Baylor. Kansas holds their #16 spot and will be back in action today in a home game versus Toledo.

The Memphis Tigers and Connecticut Huskies dip back to the #17 and #18 spots after the Kentucky victory. 19-25 remain exactly the same except for the 20/21 switch by Colorado and San Diego State.
