Monster Week for Curie High Product Cliff Alexander

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

The previous week has been quite the ride on “Cloud Nine” for Kansas Jayhawk signee Cliff Alexander of Curie High School in Chicago, Illinois.

Saturday December 7, as reported by the Chicago Tribune, Chicago Curie and the 6-9 Power Forward Alexander took on 2015 Top Prospects Stephen Zimmerman and Chase Jeter of Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Neither of the “Twin Towers” gave Cliff Alexander any problems as he went off for 22 points, 20 rebounds, and 5 blocks in their 66-62 victory over the 11th ranked team in USA Today’s Super 25.

The seven-foot Zimmerman finished the contest with 10 points and 13 rebounds while fellow Junior teammate Chase Jeter went for only 6 points and 9 rebounds. Both players currently have scholarship offers from the Kansas Jayhawks.

Last night, Thursday December 12, as reported by, Alexander has a jaw-dropping performance, tallying 30 points, a monstrous 24 rebounds, and 15 blocked shots in the blowout win over Chicago Dunbar. Chicago Curie is currently ranked #1 in the Super 10 High School.

Bill Self and the Kansas squad has to be itching to get this guy to Lawrence as he continues to post such authoritative numbers. With the majority of the KU freshman class this season expected to declare for the NBA Draft, the Jayhawks will be looking forward to getting Alexander on the team. There is surely plenty more to come from the future Kansas big man, and Through the Phog is the place to find it.
