Kansas Football: TCU Game News and Notes

On Saturday in Fort Worth, Texas, the Kansas Jayhawks will face the TCU Horned Frogs. The game will be televised on Fox Sports Regional channel and is scheduled to start at 11:05 a.m.

Kansas enters the game with a 2-2 record overall, while TCU is 2-3 after falling to Oklahoma last week. The game on Saturday will be the Horned Frogs homecoming game.

The Horned Frogs three losses have come to team’s all in the top 20 nationally, showing just how strong of a team this is, despite their record. Horned Frogs Trevone Boykin has showed improvement from where he was at last season. He is hoping for the improvement to continue vs the Jayhawks.

Turnovers continue to hurt Kansas. Quarterback Jake Heaps on the season has thrown four touchdowns and five interceptions. The team has also lost four fumbles. TCU has a very opportunistic defense headed by Sam Carter and Chris Hackett, who both have three interceptions this season.

Running back James Sims leads the team in rushing with 325 yards on 64 carries through the season. Darrian Miler is second with 169 yards. Tony Pierson leads the team with 21 receptions.

Heaps had a game vs TCU as the BYU starting quarterback in 2010. He threw for 91 yards and two interceptions in a 31-3 loss in Fort Worth. Heaps will get a chance to better this result tomorrow.
