Kansas Football: Three Ways to Beat Texas Tech

Texas Tech travels to face Kansas on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. central time. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports 1. This will be the Red Raiders second conference game, while it will be the Jayhawks first of the year.

Kansas is 2-1, and Texas Tech enters the game with a 4-0 record. Here are three ways the home team can pull off the victory.

1. Limit your mistakes: Jayhawks quarterback Jake Heaps has three touchdowns on the year, and four interceptions. Heaps and the rest of the offense need to limit their errors and turnovers to help their chances on Saturday.

2. Rush Mayfield: TCU put a steady pass rush on the Red Raiders freshman quarterback, forcing him to make throws he didn’t want too and three interceptions. For Kansas to win this game, the defense needs to get after Mayfield and make him throw bad passes. The team doesn’t have much of a running game, putting more pressure on Mayfield to make plays.

3. James Sims needs to top 100 yards: Kansas needs their starting running back to eclipse the 100-yard mark to get this important conference victory. If Sims can top the yard mark, then this will keep the vaunted Red Raiders passing attack off the field.
