Kansas Soccer: Jayhawks Prepare For Santa Clara on Friday

The Kansas Jayhawks soccer team will finish their non-conference slate of games on Friday night as they travel to face Santa Clara at 9:00 p.m. central time.

Kansas will look to get a huge win as Santa Clara is ranked number 20 in the most recent NSCAA coaches poll. The Broncos have faced a plethora of teams already ranked, holding a 1-3-1 mark, while this will be the Jayhawks first tilt.

Santa Clara are winning games the old fashioned way by shutting down their offense. Opposing teams have only scored 1.38 goals per game vs teh team. Julie Johnston leads the team with five goals and two assists, while Andi Tostanoski has been dominant in the net.

Kansas enjoyed a weekend of success in wins vs South Dakota State and Illinois State to push their record to 5-4-1 overall. Now the Jayhawks will look to continue this run in a difficult place to win at. Caroline Kastor leads the team with three goals on the year, while Jamie Fletcher has notched 34 shots, second in the Big 12.
