Kansas Volleyball: Jayhawks Defeat Georgia in 3 Straight Sets

On Friday, the Kansas Jayhawks volleyball team opened up their Jayhawk Invitational to a string of wins. Kansas first defeated North Dakota State in three straight sets, then followed this victory by defeating a tough SEC team in Georgia.

Kansas improved to 9-3 overall on the year, while dropping Georgia to 8-2.

Sarah McClinton and Tiana Dockery both had huge pulls in the Jayhawks victory as they made 14 kills. Brianne Riley continued her torrid stretch has she added 11 digs and Erin McNorton made 38 assists in the game as she kept the offense going.

The Jayhawks defense was the story of the game as they kept Georgia’s offense at bay, with the Bulldogs only connecting on .198% of their hits. Kansas connected on .368 of their hits in the game.

Next up for Kansas is the third and final opponent of the Jayhawk Invitational in Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish will face Kansas on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. central time.
