Kansas Soccer: Jayhawks Defeat South Dakota State, 2-1

On Friday night, the Kansas Jayhawks soccer team got back on the right track thanks to a goal in the 75th minute of the contest from Haley Yearout.

With the win, Kansas improved to 4-4-1 on the season, while dropping South Dakota State to 4-3-2. The Jackrabbits entered the game on a six-game unbeaten streak.

Courtney Dickerson kicked the scoring off right away with a goal in the second minute of the contest. Shelby Raper knotted the game up at 1 with a goal in the 52nd-minute of the game.

Kansas was the team who set the pace throughout the game as they out-shot the Jackrabbits, 16-8 including an 8-4 advantage with shots on goal.  Jayhawks goalie Kaitlyn Stroud made three saves, while Jackrabbits goalie Nicole Inskeep stopped six shots.
