Jayhawks in the MLB: 9-20

Here is a weekly look at how former Kansas Jayhawks have fared in the MLB over the week as many teams are wrapping up playoff bids and their respective divisions.

Tom Gorzelanny: Gorzelanny is still day-to-day with a shoulder injury. The pitcher hasn’t played since Sept. 2nd for the Milwaukee Brewers. He has an ERA of 3.90 on the season with a record of 3-6.

Sam Freeman: Freeman had three appearances for the St. Louis Cardinals over the week as they look to finish the season strong. He has pitched a little over two innings for the week, only giving up one hit in his latest appearance earlier tonight vs Milwaukee. Freeman has pitched 10.2 innings since being called up from Triple-A Memphis for the Cardinals with an ERA of 2.53.

Mike Zagurksi: Zagurski made one appearance for the New York Yankees in a game on Sunday. The reliever pitched 1/3rd of a inning, and gave up two earned runs and one hit in a game vs the Boston Red Sox. He has yet to pitch again for the team. Zagurski has an ERA of 17.05 this year while pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Yankees.
