Kansas Football: A Look at the Louisiana Tech Defense

On Saturday at 11:00 a.m. the Kansas Jayhawks will host Louisiana Tech. The game will be televised on Fox Sports 1. Here is a look at the Mustangs defense.

The Mustangs lost seven total starters from last season’s squad. Le’Vander Liggins returns as the team’s leading tackler from a season ago. This year, Liggins has amassed 17 tackles on the season so far. He also has one interception. Ik Enemkpali has a total of 4.5 sacks and one interception also. Daniel Cobb has added eight tackles for loss after joining the team from Texas Tech last season.

The unit is giving up an average of 26 points per contest, with 40 coming vs NC State in the team’s season opener. The Mustangs allowed 14 points vs Lamar in their lone victory and gave up 24 points to Tulane.

None of the three teams vs the Mustangs have done anything flashy, but be able to control the time of possession. For Kansas to have a chance here, the Jayhawks will need to run their ball controlling offense in keeping the Mustangs off the field.
