On Wednesday, the University of Kansas announced they will face Houston on the football field for the first time since 2005. The game set for 2019 will be in Houston, with Kansas hosting their meeting in 2020.

Kansas holds a 3-0 series lead with the team’s last meeting coming at the Fort Worth Bowl as the Jayhawks began a string of three straight bowl game victories as they trounced the Cougars, 42-13. The team’s met in 1994 and 1995 with Kansas taking the first contest, 35-13. In the latter game, Kansas hosted the Cougars, finishing with a 20-13 win.

Houston is part of the new American Athletic Conference and currently enjoy a 2-0 record overall.
