Kansas Volleyball: Riley Named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week

Kansas Jayhawks senior libero Brianne Riley was named the Big 12 conference’s defensive player of the week after leading the team to a 3-0 mark over the weekend in Milwaukee. Riley keyed the team’s strong performance in the InnTowner Invitational.

Kansas on the season has a record of 7-3, seeing this award go to their team for a second straight week. Caroline Jarmoc earned the award last week.

Riley made 71 digs throughout the weekend, including keying the team’s efforts in a key matchup vs Wisconsin to start the weekend. The Badgers entered the tournament undefeated with a national ranking of 25. The team jumped on Kansas, two sets to none only for Riley to punch in 28 digs en route to a come-from-behind victory.

The Jayhawks next up travel back home for the Kansas Invitational over the weekend, and five straight games at home.
