Kansas Football: Three Players to Watch on Rice

Rice and Kansas face off tomorrow in a rematch of last season’s victory for the road Owls, 24-23 in Lawrence. Kansas looks to avenge this loss and improve to 2-0 on the year.

The game will be played at 6:30 p.m. central time and televised on CBS Sports.

Here are three players to watch on Rice:

Philip Gaines: Conference USA all-conference member as a safety last season, returns to action after sitting out the game vs Texas A&M on August 31st. Gaines should instantly improve Rice’s defense.

Taylor McHargue: McHargue ran for 78 yards and threw for 180 yards vs Texas A&M. Last season vs Kansas the quarterback threw for 235 yards while leading Rice to the win. He is one to watch on the team.

Jordan Taylor: McHargue’s top receiver, had a breakout game last year vs Kansas when he made nine receptions for 101 yards. The receiver had a good showing vs the Aggies, in hauling seven catches for 78 yards.
