After losing to 24th-ranked Creighton yesterday in volleyball, the Kansas team travels to the Inntowner Invitational to face Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Bowling Green over the weekend.
Kansas is 4-3 after the loss on Tuesday, with a chance to regroup over the weekend. The host Blue Jays out-worked Kansas in almost every facet of the game, other then being out-blocked, 18-16. Creighton was in control throughout the contest, other then the second set which saw Kansas pull away en route to a 25-15 win. The home Blue Jays quickly regrouped as they won the third set, 25-17.
The fourth set was a classic as both teams traded points, only to have Creighton eke out a win, 29-27 and take the match. Brianne Riley once again topped 20 digs in the match, finishing with 22. Erin McNorton added 44 assists.
Wisconsin hosts the Inntowner tournament and will be Kansas’s second opponent on Saturday. Bowling Green is the Jayhawks opponent on Sunday. The tournament finishes a daunting early season schedule which has saw Kansas be the road team nine out of ten times.
