Here is a look at how former Kansas Jayhawks have fared in the MLB this past week.
Tom Gorzelanny: Gorzelanny made one appearance as a relief pitcher this past week, a change from where he was starting at. A shoulder injury has pushed him to the bullpen. Gorzelanny, appeared in one inning of relief for the Milwaukee Brewers, giving up one earned run to the Pittsburgh Pirates. For the season, Gorzelanny is 3-6 with an ERA of 3.90.
Sam Freeman:Freeman made three appearances during the past week for the St. Louis Cardinals out of the bullpen. Firstly, Freeman pitched one inning on Monday vs Cincinnati out of relief, giving up no earned runs. He followed that up with an appearance on Wednesday, again giving up no runs and no hits. Freeman, then made an appearance on Thursday for the Cardinals, giving up one earned run and two hits, in just under an inning of relief.
Mike Zagurski: Zagurski, opted out of another contract this past week with the Oakland Athletics. The pitcher is now hoping to latch onto another organization that is in a playoff chase.
