Kansas Volleyball: Jayhawks Meet Arkansas for a Rematch

Tomorrow, the Kansas Jayhawks volleyball team will face Arkansas in a rematch of Wednesday’s matchup that saw the visitors steal the game. Now Kansas hosts Arkansas tomorrow at 1:00 p.m. central time.

With the win, and Monday’s victory over UMKC, Kansas improved to 3-1 on the season. The Jayhawks topped UMKC 3-1 in a four-set match which saw Kansas win two tightly contested sets at the end. Then yesterday in Fayetville, Kansas emerged victorious after a five-set thriller.

Arkansas defeated Kansas in the first set, 29-27. Kansas rebounded for a huge second-set win, after falling behind early on 11-3, 25-22. Arkansas took set number three, 25-19, then Kansas stole the next two sets, 25-17, and 15-10.

Catherine Carmicheal made 19 kills in the Jayhawks thrilling come-from-behind victory. Sarah McClinton added 14 kills for Kansas. Erin McNorton made 51 digs  in the contest. Brianne Riley added 24 digs on the Jayhawks back-line keeping Kansas close.

Now the team’s meet up once more in Lawrence this time on Friday.
