The 20th-ranked Kansas Jayhawks volleyball team begins their season later on today as part of the Arizona Invitational. The Pac-12 team also welcomes Central Arkansas and Morgan State to Tucson.
Kansas begins play today with Central Arkansas, before experiencing a double-header tomorrow vs Morgan State first and Arizona later on in the night. The match with Arizona, will be available for a live stream on ArizonaWildcats.com.
Last season, Central Arkansas won 30-games in winning the Southland Conference title crown. The team is led by Marissa Collins, who is ranked third nationally with 12.44 assists per set.
Morgan State won five games last season. The team returns nine letter-winners as they hope to improve upon this number.
The host Wildcats finished with a 16-15 record overall, and include 10 letter-winners, plus six starters. The Wildcats are led by Maddi Kingdon, who finished with 443 kills , 319 digs , 44 blocks and 16 service aces. She was named to the Pac-12 honorable mention list.
The Kansas women can’t wait to hit the court after their hugely successful season last year. The team bowed out of the NCAA tournament in the second round vs Wichita State and hope to improve this stature this year.
