Here is a weekly look at how former Kansas Jayhawks baseball players have performed in the MLB.
Tom Gorzelanny: The pitcher struggled in his last outing on Wednesday vs Pittsburgh. Gorzelanny in a 7-1 Milwaukee Brewers loss, pitched just over five innings. He gave up nine hits, and four earned runs. For the season, Gorzelanny has an ERA of 3.80 and an overall record of 3-6.
Sam Freeman: The pitcher was recently brought back up from Triple-A Memphis to the major leagues and St. Louis Cardinals. He is expected to pitch out of the bullpen as a third left-hander option for the team.
Mike Zagurski: Zagurski is pitching for the Triple-A Oakland Athletics team. The pitcher has made five appearances since signing a contract with the team last week. He has given up three hits and two earned runs in five innings of relief with the team. Zagurski, is hoping to break into the MLB once again after earlier this season pitching for the Pittsburgh Pirates. After a failed stint with the New York Yankees, he signed a deal with Oakland.
