Earlier this week, the NCAA released the 2012-13 attendance figures and for the 27th straight season, the Kansas Jayhawks led their conference.
The Jayhawks brought in an average of 16,438 fans to their 18 home contests. The Allen Fieldhouse has a capacity of 16,300, which has been sold out 197 straight games, dating back to the 2001-02 season.
Iowa State followed the Jayhawks in conference attendance, averaging 13,393 people. Kansas State was next then Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Texas Tech and TCU.
Kansas was fifth nationally in all- game attendance 596,905 total fans for the season. Part of this total was the Jayhawks sweet 16 meeting vs Michigan that saw 40,639 total fans enter the arena.
Kansas begins exhibition play vs Pittsburg State on Oct. 29th at 7:00 p.m. After two more exhibition games against Fort Hays State and Louisiana Monroe, the team begins actual play against Duke on Nov. 12th as part of the Champions Classic.
