Williams Signed by Chicago Bears

Former Kansas Jayhawks defensive end was signed by the Chicago Bears on Wednesday. The signing increases those from Kansas now in the NFL to 12 players.

Williams, was the beneficiary of the team terminating the contract of Turk McBride due to injury. McBride, also a defensive end was released from the team, freeing up the roster spot. Williams signed a three year deal with the Bears.

Last season with Kansas, Williams started all 12 games for the Jayhawks. He made 24 tackles on the year, including two tackles for loss. Picked up three fumble recoveries, including one forced fumble. The defensive end will be asked to help improve a spot that has been hit hard with injury for the Bears.

Williams will back up both defensive end spots for the Bears.
