Kansas Football: Previewing the Defensive Backs

Here is a look at the defensive back-field of the Kansas Jayhawks. Last season, this position was picked on by opponents, hard to say if they have improved yet.

Tyree Williams: Appeared in seven games, playing on defense and special teams.

Dexter McDonald: Arrives back in the fold after playing one season at Butler Community College. McDonald has the ability to improve this position overall for the Jayhawks. Played as a freshman for Kansas, picked up 17 tackles.

Greg Allen: Redshirt freshman arrives to help. Allen picked up 58 tackles as a high school senior and 13 pass breakups.

Dexter Linton: Played in all 12 games last season. Linton, made 26 tackles and eight pass break-ups.

JaCorey Shepard: Played in eight games after changing positions from wide receiver to defensive back, picked up 15 tackles.

Cassius Sendish: Sendish is the 59th-top juco prospect. Kansas is expecting him to improve this position dramatically. Made 29 tackles last season at Arizona Western.

Alex Matlock: Played in five games last season, all on special teams.

Deron Dangerfield: New freshman to the team. Dangerfield, was a two-year letterwinner at Shawnee Mission High School in Kansas.

Ben Goodman: Plays the buck position, made 21 tackles last season after playing in 11 games for the Jayhawks. Added a sack.

Michael Reynolds: Made eight tackles last season after playing in all 12 games.

Neil Page: Redshirt freshman from last season, Page enters the team as the third buck after Reynolds and Goodman.
