Jayhawks in the MLB: 7-26

Here is the weekly run-down and update of former Kansas Jayhawks players in the MLB. Tom Gorzelanny at the Milwaukee Brewers, and Mike Zagurski as he battles to make the major leagues once more and Sam Freeman.

Gorzelanny in his last outing for the Brewers struggled in a game vs the San Diego Padres. Gorzelanny pitched for five innings, gave up five earned runs and five hits. Gorzelanny, also gave up one home-run in a 5-3 loss for the Brewers. Gorzelanny finally got a little more run support, though struggled some himself in the defeat. Gorzelanny is scheduled to start again tomorrow vs the Colorado Rockies. For the season, he has an ERA of 2.47 and a record of 1-4.

Zagurski is still battling to get a spot once again in the MLB. He is currently pitching for a minor league team for the Yankees.

Freeman is also pitching in the minor leagues, and is attempting to once again make it back to the major leagues. The pitcher has five career MLB appearances, with two coming last season for the St. Louis Cardinals.
