Kansas Football: Big 12 Media Days

Beginning tomorrow and Tuesday, the Big 12 conference’s key players and coaches all meet in Texas for the annual media days.

The Jayhawks are set to send linebacker Ben Heeny, running back James Sims, cornerback Cassius Sendish and quarterback Jake Heaps.

Earlier this past week, the media representatives for the conference picked their annual conference poll. The Jayhawks were picked to finish last in the conference with 56 points, 40 behind ninth-place Iowa State.

Oklahoma State with 15 first- place votes, and 365 points out-distanced Oklahoma in the poll by 10 points. Head coach Bob Stoops team picked up 355 points and eight first-place votes. TCU and Texas were picked third and fourth, while Baylor placed fifth. TCU had nine first-place votes, while Texas picked up eight. Baylor had two first-place votes. Last year’s conference champion Kansas State along with Oklahoma was selected sixth in the poll with one first-place vote, just ahead of Texas Tech and West Virginia. The Red Raiders hope to improve upon this seventh-place finish with former quarterback Kliff Kingsbury taking over as head coach.
