Three former Kansas Jayhawks players are in action for their respective summer league teams today. Jeff Withey at New Orleans, Ben McLemore at Sacramento and Elijah Johnson for the LA Clippers.
Withey scored five points to go along with three rebounds and three blocked shots for the Pelicans in a 66-62 win over the Cleveland Cavs on Monday night.
This was Withey’s second game in the Las Vegas Summer League for the Pelicans. On Sunday night, Withey scored four points to go with five rebounds.
Johnson’s performance stood out on Monday night for the Clippers. The former Jayhawks point guard scored eight points to go with three rebounds, three steals, and three assists in a 77-65 loss to the LA Lakers. The guard played just 15 minutes, though made the most of his time on the court as he battles for a roster spot.
McLemore is also in action for the Sacramento Kings. The former Jayhawks elite guard has played in 26 minutes and has scored 10 points so far for the Kings. Golden State currently holds a 70-56 lead over the Kings. McLemore is 3-10 from the field and 0-3 from behind the three-point line.
