Jayhawks in the MLB 7-14

Here is a weekly look at how the former Kansas Jayhawks who are now in the MLB performed.

Tom Gorzelanny: Gorzelanny started for the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday in a game vs Arizona. The pitcher lasted six innings and gave up only two earned runs, yet still lost. Arizona defeated Milwaukee, 2-1 dropping Gorzelanny’s overall record to 1-3. Even still, the pitcher has a strong ERA of 1.88. Friday was Gorzelanny’s birthday though his offense struggled to give him much of anything.

Mike Zagurski: This former Jayhawks great pitcher, continues to have issues as he battles to get back into the major league with the New York Yankees. The pitcher has an ERA of 5.71 and an overall record of 2-1 for a Yankees farm team.

Sam Freeman: Another former Jayhawks pitcher who broke through into the major leagues last season is struggling. Freeman, currently has a record of 1-1 with an ERA of 7.29 for a Cardinals farm team.
