Finally, July 10th has come around opening the doors for NBA trades and signings to be finalized. Three former Kansas Jayhawks were among those changing jerseys.
Paul Pierce is part of a trade moving from Boston to Brooklyn. The former Celtic was moved with Kevin Garnett to the Nets in exchange for Gerald Wallace and Reggie Evans along with other players. Pierce is expected to start for the Nets.
Jeff Withey was drafted by the Portland Trailblazers in the second round with the 39th pick. The second round choice has been traded to the New Orleans Pelicans as part of a three-team trade sending Grevious Vasquez to Sacramento, Robin Lopez to Portland, and Tyreke Evans to the Pelicans.
Thomas Robinson is now a Blazer after getting traded by Houston. The Rockets get Kostas Papanikolaou and Marko Todorovic, and two future second round picks in exchange for the power forward. Robinson will back up LaMarcus Aldridge with the Blazers.
Darrell Arthur is part of a trade from the Memphis Grizzlies and Denver Nuggets. The former Jayhawks power forward was traded in exchange for Kosta Koufos.
