Kansas Football: Previewing the Defensive Line


Here is a look at the returning players and newcomers for the Kansas Jayhawks defensive line. This unit is largely unproven though has a plethora of incoming juco players which could make it elite if all works out.

Keba Agostinho: Played in all 12 games, including making nine starts. Agostinho made 16 tackles on the season.

Andrew Bolton: Newcomer to the team, Bolton comes in as a three-star recruit out of community college. Only played in four games last season after suffering an injury, picking up 10 tackles.

Marquel Combs: The gem of the recruiting class, Combs arrives as the number one rated prospect out of junior college. He racked up 19 tackles and 7.5 tackles for loss last season.

Tyler Holmes: Redshirted his first season with the Jayhawks. Holmes made 104 tackles in high school.

Tedarian Johnson: Another juco guy, Johnson made 38 tackles last season and 11 tackles for loss while at Hinds Community College.

Ty McKinney: McKinney arrives as another juco player. Last season, McKinney picked up 27 tackles and four sacks.

Shane Smith: Played in 12 games last season, mostly on special teams though.

Keon Stowers: Last season, Stowers picked up seven tackles in eight games of action as a reserve on the line.

Jordan Tavai: Started all 12 games last season for the Jayhawks on the line. Tavai, made 19 tackles and one tackle for loss.

Kevin Young: Played in all 12 games, including starting nine at defensive tackle. Young made 19 tackles, three tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.
