Kansas Football: Previewing the Offensive Lineman

Here is a look at the Kansas Jayhawks offensive lineman, one of the teams stronger positions last season though has some questions entering this season.

Dylan Admire: This sophomore appeared in all games as a redshirt freshman playing as a backup on the offensive line and special teams.

Brian Beckman: Redshirt freshman has a number of accolades from his high school stay in Kansas. He was rated the top offensive lineman prospect out of the state as a senior.

Joey Bloomfield: Incoming freshman rated as a three-star prospect. He was rated the 57th overall offensive lineman and 7th prospect coming out of Kentucky.

Sean Connolly: Another redshirt freshman last season, Connolly performed at an elite level during high school. He helped lead his high school team to a 15-0 record.

Randall Dent: Switched over from the defensive line. Dent started the team’s final 10 games last season.

Zach Fondal: One of the juco recruits, Fondal last season played for Navarro College. He played on an offense that scored 521 points in 12 games.

Ngalu Fusimalohi: Another juco recruit, Fusimalohi was rated the 90th best juco recruit by ESPN.com. He also played for a team that scored loads of points, averaging just over 42 points per game.

Joe Gibson: Gibson enters the team as a freshman. He earned three letters last season as a high school senior.

Gavin Howard: Howard, played in 11 games last season just missing the West Virginia game. He started in six for the Jayhawks at right tackle.

Pat Lewandowski: Played in all 12 games last season after changing sides from defensive line to offensive line. He appeared on both offense and special teams.

Damon Martin: Martin played in two games last season as a redshirt freshman vs Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

Bryan Peters: Didn’t see any game action last season as a redshirt freshman.

Mike Smithburg: JUCO recruit from Iowa Western Community College. Smithburg helped lead the team to a 12-0 record. He was named the 41st prospect by Rivals.com from juco levels.

Riley Spencer: Missed final 11 games last season after getting hurt in season opener vs South Dakota State.

Aslam Sterling: Played in all 12 games last season, starting eight at guard and tackle. Sterling was a vaunted cog on the line in helping the running game achieve great numbers.
