Jayhawks in the MLB 6-28

Here is a weekly look at how the former Kansas Jayhawks currently in the MLB fared over the week.

Mike Zagurski: This former Jayhawk pitcher has signed a deal to play for the New York Yankees, early this week. Zagurski, cleared waivers after declining an offer to play minor league baseball with Pittsburgh. The pitcher’s deal contains a buyout offer if he hasn’t moved up to MLB from minor league by August 15th.

Tom Gorzelanny: Gorzelanny, made two appearances over the week for the Milwaukee Brewers. Vs Atlanta on Sunday, Gorzelanny lasted almost three innings as he gave up three hits and struck out four batters. Gorzelanny did not give up any runs. Then on Tuesday, Gorzelanny pitched two innings of relief vs Chicago Cubs and gave up one hit and struck out three batters. On the season, Gorzelanny’s ERA is holding steady at 2.41.
