On Tuesday, it was announced how the University of Kansas and ESPN have reached a new seven-year agreement. The deal states how ESPN 3 will carry 70 live events.

Time-Warner Cable previously made a deal with Kansas, of airing 50 sporting events annually. ESPN 3 will carry all of these events plus add another 20. The Time-Warner deal only involves the Kansas City metro area, while the ESPN deal adds a national audience.

The 70 events include a late night football game, football spring game, six basketball games including two exhibitions, and the universities annual, Late Night in the Phog. Kansas women’s basketball will be aired 16 times along with volleyball, baseball, softball, women’s soccer games and Kansas relays.

The deal between Kansas and ESPN is one of the largest the network has signed to date.
