Kansas Track and Field: Geubelle Finshes 7th at USA Championships

Andrea Geubelle finished seventh in the long jump at the USA Track and Field Championships on Saturday in Des Moines.

Geubelle has an off chance of making it to the World Championships in Moscow, if she meets a “B” standard jump in the triple jump. On Saturday in the long jump, the Jayhawks senior leapt for 6.69 meters (20″10.75). This number earned her a seventh place finish.

In other action, Daniels advanced to the 200 meter finals with a wind-aided time of 22.59 on Saturday . This time was the third-fastest all-time from Jayhawks women athletes. The Jayhawks senior finished 12th with a time of 23.12 in one semifinal of the event on Sunday, not advancing to the final. Allyson Felix won the heat with a time of 22.66.

Jayhawks senior discus thrower Jessica Maroszek finished seventh in the event with a toss of 58.01 (190-4).  Gia Lewis-Smallwood from Nike won the event with a toss of 65.13 (213-8).
