Jayhawks in the MLB 6-21

Here is a look at how the two former Kansas Jayhawks performed over the week in the MLB. Tom Gorzelanny at Milwaukee and Mike Zagurski over at Pittsburgh.

Gorzelanny pitched in almost two innings last week over two appearances. In a game vs Cincinnati, he lasted one inning, and gave up three hits during a Brewers 6-0 win. Then in a loss vs Houston, Gorzelanny lasted just 2/3rds of a inning, while giving up three runs on Tuesday. Gorzelanny for the season now has an ERA of 2.79 and has pitched in 29 innings.

Zagurski didn’t make any appearances over the past week for the Pirates as he was demoted to triple A. The pitcher declined this demotion and was granted free agency. He remains a free agent. Zagurski remains with an ERA of 15 for the season in six games he has appeared in. He was granted free agency on Wednesday. As of right now, there are no suitors for the hard-throwing left hander.
