Kansas Women’s Soccer: French National Added to Team


One of the top defenders for the French U19 National Team, Aurelie Gagnet was signed by the Kansas Jayhawks women’s soccer team. Gagnet, is set to join the team in the Fall.

The defender started for the French U19 which stormed through the qualifying round undefeated. Gagnet, helped hold opponents to just one goal during the course of three games. She also scored one goal in a 3-0 win over Switzerland on April 9th.

Gagnet, is a member of the Montpelier Herault Sport Club, the reigning three-time French champions. She has played soccer since five years old. The French team is set to compete for the European championships in early August.

The Lady Jayhawks have six new members to the team this season as they begin their season on Aug. 23 vs Arkansas. The team does play one exhibition game on August 18th vs Nebraska-Omaha.
