Jayhawks in the MLB: 6-14

Both former Kansas Jayhawks pitchers, Mike Zagurski of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Tom Gorzelanny of the Milwaukee Brewers competed this past week. Here is a look at how these pitchers fared:

Zagurski: In two appearances this past week, Zagurski had a number of issues. Vs the Giants last night, Zagurski gave up five earned runs and six hits in only one inning of play. Previously during the week, Zagurski lasted two/thirds innings in a 4-1 loss to the Chicago Cubs. He gave up one hit and no runs.

Gorzelanny: Gorzelanny also appeared in two games this past week. The pitcher lasted four innings in a rare start vs the Philadelphia Phillies last Saturday. He gave up one earned run and five hits in a Brewers 4-3 win. Then on Wednesday, Gorzelanny pitched one inning of relief in a Brewers 10-1 win over Miami. On the season, Gorzelanny has an ERA of just 1.98, and has racked up 21 strikeouts.
