On Wednesday, Kansas Head Coach Bill Self signed five players to the team. Kansas remains one of the main finalists for number one prospect, Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins is also considering Kentucky, and Florida State. Here is a look at the five new Jayhawks to next season’s team that is viewed as one of the top three in the nation by many experts.
Connor Frankamp: One of the best shooters in the nation, Frankamp hails from Wichita North High. The guard put on a show last week in a three-point contest, connecting on 22 of 25 attempts. He averaged over 31 points per contest as a senior at the school. Frankamp can put on a show either shooting or dishing the ball.
Joel Embiid: A great defensive minded center, Embiid has great potential to pick up a double-double each time he touches the court. Embiid led his Florida high school team to their first ever high school championship win this season. He pulled down 14 boards in the great win.
Wayne Selden: Selden scored 13 points at the McDonald’s All-American game. Selden averaged 24 points per game to go with 10 rebounds and four assists as a senior at Tilton High School in New Hampshire.
Frank Mason: Mason, has great ability to attack the hoop, yet his offensive game needs work. The guard from Petersburg, Virgina, may surprise some on the court.
Brannen Greene: Greene, averaged 27 points, nine rebounds and six assists at Tift County High School in Georgia. Greene, is an elite free throw shooter like Frankamp. He is viewed as a point-forward for a great ability to handle the ball.
