One of Kansas Jayhawks head coach Bill Self top players on the recruiting trail, Julius Randle decided to sign with Kentucky. Randle, had Kansas and Kentucky as his top two schools.
On Wednesday, the number two recruit in the class of 2013, chose the Wildcats in a televised ceremony from Texas. Randle, a 6-foot-9 power forward from Prestonwood Christian Academy has immense talent and makes the Wildcats recruiting class even better. Kentucky has already signed five of the top 20 recruits in the class, including the Harrison twins Aaron and Andrew, numbers four and five in the class. James Young, Dakari Johnson, and Marcus Lee, each have already signed with Kentucky.
Kansas has recruited Randle for years, trying to bring in a forward who has drew comparisons to Chris Webber. The recruitment began while Randle was just a freshman, after the Jayhawks signed the recruit’s former teammate Zach Peters.
The Jayhawks remain with one open schloarship after signing point guard Connor Frankamp, forward Wayne Selden, forward Brannen Greene,center Joel Embiid, and guard Frank Mason.
